Sunderland yacht club ran a RYA level 1 sailing course for trainees over 19th and 20th of September. This was successful for the trainees who took part as all of them passed this course. We wish them all the best in their future sailing careers.

The club also took part in the yearly event of "Bart's Bash", which was attended by a number of cruisers, who were: Whiskey Mac, Hussy,The Buoy Racer, Growler, Midnight Cowboy, Flushound, Ibis and Double Act. The sail was to commemorated the sailor Andrew Simpson, who lost his life in the Americas Cup. The club was honoured once again to pay tribute to him.

We will also be hosting a Macmillan's coffee morning on Saturday 26th September from 10:30am onwards.

A cruiser race also took place after Bart's Bash, which included the cruisers as follows: Whiskey Mac, Hussy, Discord, Growler and Double Act. However, there was some drama in this race as 2 of the cruisers were disqualified for being late to the start.

Finally, we are hosting the 2015 Laser European Qualifiers between Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th of September. We are expecting 120 boats so this will be successful for the club.
